Pepcid may be safe to take while you’re pregnant. Studies done on Pepcid 1 during pregnancy have shown no effects on developing babies.

Pepcid (famotidine) is usually taken long-term for gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as GERD, but it can be used in short stints for stomach upset, nausea, or stomach pain.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 3 says we don’t know enough about Pepcid to say it’s 100% safe, but studies in animals don’t show any harm to the fetus. Since every pregnant person and pregnancy can be slightly different, though, it’s still a good idea to ask your healthcare provider about the best option for you and your baby.
