Anisah Amat received her MFA in Creative Writing and Poetics at Naropa University in 2017. Through her studies, she learned how to interweave mindfulness and writing practice. She learned the beauty and art of writing as meditation; writing being a practice that had been a part of her wellness toolbox since she was six years old.
She manifested an opportunity of writing meditations and leading live meditation sessions for expectant mothers, women who had lost babies, and women who were on their journey through motherhood. Anisah Amat believes the power of writing and meditation can guide us back home to ourselves — to our wisdom, our love, to our own inner knowing.
She lives in Denver with her husband and two daughters.
