Thinking about freezing your eggs or starting down the road toward having a baby? Pregnant and wading through the millions of unsolicited opinions fired your way? Trying to navigate your new life and body postpartum?
You’ve come to the right place. Expectful is a new voice in women’s health and wellness content, providing informed, medically sound, unafraid resources normalizing and centering the experiences of anyone going from trying to conceive through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum years. Expectful is here to be the trusted health and wellness resource for all moms—hopeful, expecting, and new.
At Expectful, we recognize that each person’s journey to motherhood comes with its own emotions, hurdles, and outcomes—unique and personalized. Whether you are reading our expert medical advice, lifestyle tips, or a personal story, we tell it like it is and refuse to shy away from the joys, the difficulties, and the just plain weirds.
We believe that no matter what your family looks like or your path to getting there, we all deserve a place where we come first and feel seen. Because when it comes to figuring out this thing called motherhood, we’re better together.
Expectful was co-founded by entrepreneur Nathalie Walton, who experienced the real benefits of meditation during her own high-risk pregnancy. She led Expectul to become the app with the largest library of meditation and sleep content for fertility, pregnancy, and parenthood.
At the beginning of 2023, Expectful was acquired by Babylist, the leading digital destination for baby registries and growing families. Under Babylist’s ownership, Expectful has expanded its mission to become the go-to resource for those trying to conceive, pregnant, and postpartum. Through health, wellness, and lifestyle articles, expert Q&As, and first-person accounts, Expectful covers all the things readers need and want to know at every stage of the journey to motherhood, with a little sprinkle of fun on top.
As a part of the Babylist family, Expectful is a fresh destination for Millennial and Gen Z parents that centers on the needs and experiences of moms first. We hope everyone, no matter their path or identity, feels supported on Expectful as part of our growing community because when moms thrive, we can build happier and healthier families.

Through Expectful’s meditation app, we see the tremendous impact that mental health and well-being have on the journey to parenthood.
To us, the mind-body connection isn’t just an idea — it’s the key to navigating the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of every stage of parenthood from the moment you decide to conceive.
With our evidence-based meditation app, we’re making it easier than ever to create health and well-being through the power of mindfulness, and creating a world in which meditation is as common as prenatal vitamins.
Expectful offers medically vetted health content to guide you from the first moment the idea of a baby pops into your head through their first year of life. Our writers and editors speak with accredited experts in medicine, mental health, nutrition, fitness, and more to bring you real medical guidance and fact-based content.
Our medical reviewers evaluate health content for medical accuracy, and we draw regularly on their knowledge and expertise to help inform our decisions and shape the practical advice we offer, whether we're answering questions about fertility health or covering what to expect during the early days postpartum.
We take our editorial policies and processes very seriously at Expectful. Whether your questions and concerns are big or small, they are important to us because they matter to you. We appreciate our role in this pivotal moment in your life and are dedicated to being a trusted source of accurate, unbiased information.
Our editorial process centers around three main tenets: editorial independence, medically sound information, and first-person experience.
The Expectful content team has editorial independence. We write articles and guides and spotlight personal stories and the latest news and trends without external influence. We believe that every journey to parenthood is unique, and we reflect that in our coverage.
We value medically sound, evidence-based information. Expectful uses only high-quality sources, including academic research institutions, medical associations, and subject matter experts. Some of our main sources include the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Mayo Clinic.
Having and raising children really does take a village and we believe one of the best ways to get information and feel supported is through sharing stories. We prioritize the first-hand experience of the parents who have been there or are currently going through it, as well as our own team’s years of experience writing and researching about women’s health and living out these stories in our daily lives. When it comes to parenthood, we are all in this together.
